Russian Seka: classic SEKA 36 and our rules

If you are looking for “seka ru” or “Russian Seka”, start with classic SEKA 36. On seka21.com it is the same mode described in our SEKA 36 guide. Here we compare it with the published rules of seka-ru.com and explain how it differs from our Georgian SEKA 21.

What “seka-ru” means on our site

This guide is written by the SEKA team at seka21.com. We are independent of seka-ru.com and do not represent that service. “Seka-ru” in this article’s address identifies the comparison topic, rather than a separate game mode.

We offer three games: SEKA 21, SEKA 36 and SVARA 32. Choose SEKA 36 for classic rules, or SEKA 21 for the compact deck and our Georgian rules.

Classic Seka: deck, scoring and betting

SEKA 36 uses cards from six to ace. Cards 6-9 count at face value, 10/J/Q/K count as 10, and an ace is 11. Cards of the same suit add up; triples of the same rank and two aces have separate rules. Two aces score 22, three aces 33, and three sixes 34.

7♣ counts as 11 in a suit group or completes a triple. For example, 7♣ A♥ K♥ scores 32, while 7♣ 8♣ 8♦ scores 24. An ordinary mixed-suit pair does not add up: K♥ K♦ Q♠ scores 10. Equal point totals tie, regardless of the combination’s name.

CALL pays the current stake and continues betting. OPEN pays it and compares the hands; it becomes available after both players have acted. FOLD gives the pot to the opponent. Full SEKA 36 rules and hand examples.

Classic Seka and our Georgian SEKA 21

Our SEKA 21 uses 10/J/Q/K/A in four suits plus 9♣, for a total of 21 cards. The wild 9♣ substitutes a suitable natural card that is not already in your hand. In the current version, both matching suits and matching ranks add up: K♥ K♦ Q♠ scores 20 instead of the classic SEKA 36 score of 10.

The wild card also behaves differently: 9♣ A♥ K♥ scores 31 in SEKA 21, while 7♣ A♥ K♥ scores 32 in SEKA 36. SEKA 21’s strongest hand is three aces, 33. There are no sixes or 666 combination, and a tie continues for the pot until a winner emerges. These examples describe our current implementation, rather than every Georgian table. The complete SEKA 21 hand reference gives detailed scores and comparison order.

In SEKA 21, every triple beats every suited hand, and triples rank 10 < J < Q < K < A. Three kings displaying 30 therefore beat a suited 31; classic SEKA 36 has the opposite result because points decide. Three queens and three kings both display 30, but the kings win in SEKA 21. A natural triple and its equivalent with 9♣ tie.

SEKA 21, SEKA 36 and SVARA 32 compared

Every mode deals three cards per player. SEKA 36 and SVARA 32 compare point totals, so equal totals tie. For SEKA 21, follow the combination order in its own rules and hand reference. Our tables are one-on-one, online or against Gary.

Questions about the rules

How do I launch classic Seka in Russian?

Open the game, choose Russian as the interface language and select SEKA 36. Language and rules are separate settings: Russian is also available for SEKA 21 and SVARA 32.

Is SVARA 32 the same as classic Seka?

No. It uses 32 cards without sixes; two sevens score 23, three sevens 34, and 7♣ adds 11 to a group. A call ends betting. SVARA 32 rules.
